The Hyundai Kona is a great option for drivers who are looking for an SUV suitable for urban driving. Since the N version is available, driving enthusiasts can enjoy performance-oriented styling, as well as a sportier ride. The Kona debuted with the 2018 model year and then it was updated with the 2022 model.
An impressive 2024 Kona
Some spy photos showing the Kona 2024 have recently been published on the web by the Motor 1 media! Hyundai for its part, however, has not yet given any details on this second-generation Kona. We also saw sketches made by an independent artist, which allows us to have a more precise image of what the Kona 2024 could be.
In these photos, we can see a camouflaged prototype that has undergone some updates. It gained in length, then the grille was reshaped to match other Hyundai models. In addition, we can see the presence of triangular air intakes on the front of the vehicle. The prototype gives us the impression that the two-piece lighting at the front and rear, an element found on the current Kona, will be retained, as well as the receding roofline that gives it its sporty appearance. The front also stands out thanks to a full-width LED light bar that can also be found on the Hyundai Staria. As for the engine of the Kona 2024, we do not yet have many details. That being said, there is a possibility that the vehicle will adopt the 1.6L hybrid engine found in the 2023 Kia Niro. This engine develops 139 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. For an electric version, it's likely to borrow the powertrain once again from the Kia Niro EV using a 64.8 kWh battery, as well as a 201 horsepower electric motor. For now, that's all we know about the Kona's 2024 model. We can expect Hyundai to reveal it to us towards the end of this year. Stay tuned!
